I don't see the problem. It's true enough. Old wealth & power comes from the most aggressive rising in rank and commandering tribal wealth for themselves. Those families may still have that advantage these days: and royalty get income from the public purse still, on top. Royalty is an anachronism today, which only survives because some feel a need to look up to them.

I wonder how many of us would be happy to have our nearly 90 year old mothers having to do things like stand at the cenotaph? Also the idea that her replacement republican figurehead wouldn't have even more of the trappings and perks is laughable.

I get sick of people calling the Queen, she's nearly 90 and can't fight back. I think she's a credit to this country and I hope she goes on for a lot longer yet. I can't say what I really think of that horrid woman who said those things about her, or I'd be banned FOR LIFE !!!
