It is a fact that black faces are hard to see in the dark, why else would troops black up their faces etc. when they wish to camouflage themselves?

A bit odd saying it's a "hate crime" - bit of a misjudgement by a spaced out footballer perhaps. He is technically correct of course but with our brutal PC world he has to phrase it differently or the right on bigots will have go. Ably demonstrated by canary as usual.

Could it be that the newspaper reported that he happened to be a security guard, or perhaps he knew the guy previously and also knew that he would be standing in the wings, or even he could see the bright buttons on his tunic who really knows except those who were there?

But is this a hate crime?

No. Just a 1970s joke that's woken up after a 40 year slumber and not realised that people don't make jokes bases solely on skin tone.

Same with the mother-in-law joke, and Englishman, Irishman, Scotman joke.

Perhaps we should remember that Mr Gascoigne has spent many years in the grip of alcoholism and therefore shouldn't be expected to be sharp and witty whilst on stage.

He's no professional stand up.

Heavens! 'Hate' is such an overused word these days, I blame Taylor Swift.
