After posting Santa's pic on the net, this Canadian woman got lots of vile criticism from the BFF.

They accused her of being an exhibitionist and trashy.

Why can't they behave sensibly and accept this delightful sight for the innocent spectacle which it is, especially with Santa looking on.

This is an interesting one.

On the one hand, I think this woman can be seen as trivialising what is a serious issue - the freedom of women to breastfeed (discreetly!) in public.

On the other hand, her baby has a right to feed, but that doesn't necessitate making a photo opportunity out of it.

From my view, I don't think that Santa's grotto is an appropriate arena for breastfeeding - however natural it is.

Changing a nappy is natural too, and just as essential and timely - I bet she wouldn't do that using Santa's lap as a changing table, and then post that online!

Not really, retrochic. As you know, especially at first, they feed.constantly. you still have to get things done and I was a single parent too.

Probably divebuddy- it's a fairly general attitude, probably not helped by page 3 confusing the easily-confused.

It is a set-up. That baby is old enough to be predictable enough to avoid that.

I’ve never been a ‘Mother Earth’ type like all these marvellous women who seem to think breast feeding is such a wonderfully simple and joyful experience. It hurt and I hated every moment of it but did it under sufferance because I was assured it was ‘best for baby’ – so perhaps that’s why I’m incredulous that anyone actually shops and vacuums during the process. I do think a lot of tripe is talked about breast feeding.

Of course it was a set up.
