A couple of people -- one is right now, Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh, and earlier Naz Shah did. Two people who, incidentally, Trump would ban from entering the US.

Good grief. Which country's parliament is this debate???
What is so shocking about the idea that a country with some Muslims living in it might have a handful of Muslim MPs?

Jack Dromey's turn now to stand up in favour of imposing a ban, so in fact (and perhaps surprisingly) there are certainly a few people taking this debate seriously.

I suppose it is quite good that we will get a succession of people standing up and doing the Voltaire bit.
And it'll keep them out of the bar :-)
But to be honest, I am almost embarrassed that this is taking place at all
I find it very strange that there is a debate regarding the admittance of one solitary individual into your country, yet you're admitting hordes of others with hardly a word being uttered.

How sad for them. A foreigner (US) living in his own country making comments about other foreigners who do not come from his country should be taken seriously in this country in our seat of democracy???
I would take a debate more seriously if our English Constitution considered the ramblings of one Anjem Choudary living in our midst and unfortunately more likely to wish us harm than Donald Trump.
How many jobs has that treasonable scrounging pariah created in his country? None. Currently on bail I believe!!! Has trump committed a criminal act ???
@Stuey

exactly...and the vast majority dont want and never did want them here...

dont remember that one being debated...and look at our country now
Perhaps Mr. Trump should do some camping in Calais; hop on a truck; and no problem, Bob's yer uncle, he will be admitted to the UK.
Whatever happens in the debate, Trump will never arrive here as the new President of the United States, even if he is allowed in.
Watching this morning ... It's quite funny really, Gavin Newlands about Trump

''He doesn't believe that women are equal to men''

......Now let me think ... who else doesn't believe women are equal to men?
///A couple of people -- one is right now, Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh///

Did she say we had enough 'dodgy people' here already?

Sounds like a sensible policy to me, jim. ;o)

Now talking about hypocrisy ... seriously!
I liked what Phil Davies & Kwasi Kwarteng had to say.
Kwasi seems particularly well informed.
Jimmy Carter banned Iranians from the US.

/// Fourth, the Secretary of Treasury [State] and the Attorney General will invalidate all visas issued to Iranian citizens for future entry into the United States, effective today. We will not reissue visas, nor will we issue new visas, except for compelling and proven humanitarian reasons or where the national interest of our own country requires. This directive will be interpreted very strictly. ///

I'm wondering what the point of this debate was to be honest.
