I don't know if the suggestion is that the bomber was the man sucked out of the plane. He should still have had his seat belt on if the plane had only just taken off.
Somalia Airlines was served by Lufthansa when it came to maintenance, just as well, as there was an awful lot of wreckage around Mogadishu airport and this was before the piracy and revolution - in the mid 80s.....saw the final of the World Cup soccer there - and you needed a barrow of cash each day for the hotel bill.
you'd think so, but why he'd then go up to the hole in the wall to have a look outside I don't know. I didn't think people really got sucked out of planes like Goldfinger.
Apparently the aircraft was delayed so maybe the device was set on a timer and was designed to detonate when the aircraft was at a higher altitude. Smoke was mentioned in the article - it was probably not smoke but mist that is generated when there is a cabin decompression.
I think that it fair to say that the passengers were very lucky to have survived and the pilot and crew did very well to get the thing to land with a hole in the side.
lol 237SJ, anyone putting a bomb on a plane timed to go off less than an hour after takeoff is asking for trouble (except with Ryanair, who seem pretty punctual).
