A few weeks ago I was reading that 2 plane-loads a day/week were returning to Syria from Germany. The one's interviewed had similar complaints about weather, money, housing, etc.
Like Naomi, I thought, that's very enlightening. Wish I'd posted it now, instead of succumbing to the pressure on here not to post anything negative.

My wife's nephew lives and works in Finland. He says that it all takes a lot of getting used to, especially the Finns, who don't tend to chat but speak when there's something to say.
I don't know any Iraqis but from what I've seen on the news they seem to avoid 'quiet' except when asleep.
Maybe missing the banter.

Blow the authorities Sandy, it appears that the locals didn't make them welcome, and it is them and not the authorities who have to live and share their infrastructure with them. So perhaps that's the secret don't make them welcome.

Exactly. This is where cultural identity is at threat. Replicate this times however many countries then this is where tensions grow.
They chose Finland, why? It wouldn't be because they thought it was prone to heatwaves.

Maybe those wishing to reside in Finland had stuck it out a bit longer then maybe this is what they eventually could have expected:
