Question To The Ab Editors And News Contributors

Is there a real need to have the 'Politics' and 'Current Affairs' subheadings under 'News'?

I'm not suggesting that they should be dropped...just trying to understand why they should be split out, and whether regular 'News' contributors ever look there.

There is no need to have any sub headings anywhere.

I absolutely agree with Tora.
The subheaders through the Topics listing are most confusing: fiddly to access, and are listed like branching sub-headers, whereas they are actually just other headings tucked away underneath.
In the case of News, those two sub headers should definitely be removed, in my opinion.

I think most of them could be removed. They aren't immediately obvious unless you know and look for them.

Good point. If you, feeling it isn't strictly news, put the story in a 'sub-category', you may well get no answers.
When I want to catch up on what I've missed I check the 'News Section', not the others.

AB is financed by advertising which is paid out by page views. So the more sections you have, the more unique views are recorded. Except no one goes there. (politics and Current Affairs).

it's based on actual page views gromit, not pages available that no one goes to. If that was true create a million dummy pages!
