get distressed about dog cruelty, but surely this has to stop.

I don't know why, but this seems so natural in China with people just walking past, and not making a second glance in the video.

Different organisations do their best, but is there anything else we can do to try and stop this dreadful practice on beautiful animals.

Presumably you mean all the stuff Kennel Club devotees get up to, breeding dogs which live in extreme discomfort all their lives.
