This is supposedly where The Pet Shop Boys got their name, although the band insist it was a couple of friends who owned a pet shop, and were called The Pet Shop Boys.

Mr gere's sexual orientation, and indeed that of his divorced wife Cindy Crawford were the subject of mass media speculation a few yers ago, which culminated in the duo taking out an ad in The Times to confirm mutual heterosexuality.

The rumour still persists - Mr gere knows the truth, and he ain;t saying!
