You don't need to explain to me what 'post facto' means or how tenses work, PP.
The matter of whether the "frail old lady's" views were pre or post the Scottish vote is irrelevant to the topic of this thread, which relates to the public revelation of those views.
David Cameron has said that he accepted Michael Gove’s claim that he was not the source of the Sun’s story about the Queen’s thinking on Europe.
When it was put to Cameron that he would have to sack Gove if he were the source, Cameron replied:
Obviously these are very serious matters but, as far as I can see, Michael Gove has made clear that he has no idea where this story came from either. So you have got a very clear denial, a statement from Buckingham Palace and from the [former] deputy prime minister, an investigation underway from the press standards organisation, and I think we should let them do their work.
Yes, Tilly looking at that picture, I too could smack him in the wotsit !!!

complete non sequitur a la AB
it is relevant as the revelation of those views ( eek! ) before a vote may influence the way people vote

and it is not the function of the Queen even a Q of Scotland - and jesus you have had some non starters and headless chickens when it comes to them - to influence voters
PP, this thread is about whether or not Michael Gove is a cad/bounder for conceivably being the one who may have revealed the Queen's views on Brexit. Absolutely nowhere in the Telegraph article linked-to in the OP even MENTIONS the topic of her possibly influencing voters. If you insist on debating a different topic from the one that is actually here, open a separate thread on the one you do want to debate!

How the heck all the above repetitions appeared is a mystery to me!However, I have been experiencing a multitude of problems here on AB and elsewhere today, after putting new batteries into my separate keyboard, so I apologise for the gremlins!
