That said one wouldn't opt not to put an escaped prisoner back in gaol if they had broken out before the end of their sentence. Is failing to finish murdering a convict so different. Any option not to try again is simply a humanitarian gesture with associated risks.

if we had hanged all de Oirish terrorists who had said after various forms of abuse by the authorities - " yes sorr oi did it ! "
which I regret the english judiciary swallowed hook line and sinker
then we would have hanged twenty or thirty innocent men ....
and the judges and various ABers would comment - - - - so what ?
