It's an excuse. He was in tears before he even knew there was girls on the island.
He couldn't cope from the beginning when there were no women in sight. He seemed shocked that he had to walk and found that really hard let alone foraging. He really should not blame his religion for being a wimp!!!
I think he thought it would be a bit of a holiday with transfers and stuff.
how's he going to cope with 70 virgins in heaven then?
Like I said....it's an excuse, he was crying on day one so all the other men did his share of the work.
// Explaining his decision, he said: “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.// I expect some of the other blokes found it hard too.
wimp !
Like others have said its just an excuse to leave, he was a waste of space from the very start. He has turned being a Muslim into a convenient get out, hardly the positive role model he said he wanted to be.
so why was he even selected for the show? I know why, in these days of PC obsession we have to have a muslim!
They have to apply, TTT, and go through the interviews and assessments. He clearly talked the talk.

makes good television innit ?
umm - they SAY on you have talent

the really carp get thro the initial stages when everyone knows they are carp and are told - " no no its good you'll do OK "
which is why they cry tears of outrage and humiliation when the judges honk them and say they are losers

one reject duo was told they would get time on tee-vee if they cried on television ( both of them I suppose - they turned the deal down )

And ticked the diversity box.
I don't think so. I think they pick who might make the programme more interesting. I don't think race or religion come in to it.

They might have spotted that he was actually a bit of a wimp and thought he would cause tensions.

You really believe that do you?

It has been reported many times recently that there must be a show of diversity, be it in Awards ceremonies, Drama series, Soaps or game shows.
I thought it was lack of diversity that was being reported.

I believe they picked him because he talked the talk or that they knew he be a pain in the backside.
*would
Why weren't the women allowed to wear clothes that would protect them from sunburn?
I haven't see the programme so cannot comment directly.

When I do watch TV I don't count the number of different ethnicities or religions though. How sad are those who feel the need to do so?

/// This is harder than what I thought it would be.”///

Ah, I think I see what the problem might be!
