Should Britain First Use Lee Rigby's Name In Their Campaigns?

Lee Rigby's family have repeatedly asked Britain First not to use their son's name in their broadcast and online materials, but they have ignored this.

As Lee is a national public figure, are BF right to go ahead and include references to him - or should they take into account the wishes of his family?

For one person in particular, it certainly does Naomi. I have crossed swords with her before on the subject of the far-right. Unfortunately I have forgotten her name ! There have been others as well.

But whatever the aims are of BF, they are, like the Telegraph says, a loathsome organisation.

Look at the fancy dress picture in the Mirror link.....childish is another name.

I agree, if Lee Rigby's parents so wish his name should not be used. Although I fail to understand why they chose not to, if only it highlighted the seriousness of their son's murder, for example the Laurence family did not consider it a problem

But what must be asked is, can there not be any protest groups against certain things that are happening in this country (especially slaughter on our street as in this case) without them being automatically called Fascists, Nazis etc. What about far-left groups, should we also give them such pejorative names?

AOG...if the Telegraph and Wiki calls BF "Far-right" and even your favorite newspaper, the DM also use the same phrase....then its good enough me !

I have said 09:07 that they should respect the family's wishes and not use his actual name, but the incident can most certainly be referred to. The question in the OP is should his name be used, not what anyone thinks of the organisation using it.

Nothing wrong in calling them Far-Right, just as there isn't in using the term, Far-Left, in fact in today's 'Hugging the centre position' all parties don't have to veer far from that position, until they are given the prefix 'FAR'.

It is your usage of the term far-right fascist, that I refer to.

Incidentally to be perfectly correct, Lee Rigby's family have asked 'ALL' political parties not to use his name in their campaigns.

No I am not sure if anyone has rights in this at all ... - the Romans called it a damnatio memoriae and went around chiselling out names on plinths.
