Although I have every sympathy for Mr Evans' family, you must concede that the entire situation is a direct result of Mr Evans' conscious and deliberate actions - the alleged victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

But Mr Evans was not convicted of being an idiot, he was convicted of being a rapist, which is not quite the same thing.
It is for a court to decide, again, if he is guilty as charged.
