Nobody has answered my previous question. In the retrial will the accuser have to give evidence?

I would imagine so hc. But it may well be in secret, or with press and public excluded to protect anonymity.

I would never wish to stand in the way of due process, but if the operations of the law deem that Mr Evans is entitled to a retrial, and that does mean further appearances for his alleged victim, then that is a very sad and distressing aspect of the case.

Although I have every sympathy for Mr Evans' family, you must concede that the entire situation is a direct result of Mr Evans' conscious and deliberate actions - the alleged victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Evans was an idiot, no doubt. Stupidity is not yet a criminal offence. The jails would be more crowded than they are now if it was.

But Mr Evans was not convicted of being an idiot, he was convicted of being a rapist, which is not quite the same thing.

It is for a court to decide, again, if he is guilty as charged.

I have always had my doubts about his conviction – just as the Court of Appeal has had its doubts about his conviction.

The cctv images prove that the victim was there, purely by chance? We used to think the moon was made of cheese when we only had indistinct grainy images.

I take it you are convinced that the victim was there purely by chance. Evans must be relieved that you will not be serving on the next jury.

No...she willingly went to the hotel. She willingly had sex with the other bloke. It's Ched Evans involvement that's under question.
