I posted this on the other thread. For the States, our continuing membership of the EU maintains its easy path to business with Europe. It is, therefore, in America’s interests that we remain. Obama is on a ‘financial’ mission, but his scare tactics regarding trade deals shouldn’t be too taken seriously – and neither should Hillary’s. They are both making noises that are beneficial to America alone. Countries that want to trade will trade because that is advantageous to all concerned, and that’s what business does. It’s as simple as that.

Obstructing free trade with the US as a tit-for-tat reaction would be a idiotic thing to do, and there would only be one loser in that scenario.
