Perhaps if these 'backward' countries had been left with their own religious beliefs instead of having all that Christian nonsense foisted on them such exorcisms wouldn't occur?

Ah yes, perhaps if it wasn't for my 'paper of choice' we wouldn't hear of such things going off in this civilised country of ours.

Ah yes, those good old days of witch doctors and such things.

Apparently it is a cultural thing so us in the West should not poke our nose into
the way they do things in their culture and try to make them behave like us!!!
//the West cannot stop poking its nose into other cultures, and attempting to enforce its cultural practices on other cultures who neither request, desire, or appreciate our desires to make them behave 'properly' - i.e. like us. //

Most of what is presented here is historic and is old news. The subject of this report was a victim 16 years ago (when he was 8, he is now 24).
I have no doubt that witchcraft is still seen as a threat by followers of African religions. Guarding against it is part of being a follower. But it appears that the problem is being blown out of proportion, and that this doctors report is substantially out of date.

This is a historic case, and absolutely needs to be investigated, because it's a form of abuse.
I agree with TTT here - it's total religious BS.
