So why are there accusations of whitewash etc when fans want James Bond to stay Caucasian?
Idris Elba is a fantastic actor but when I hear he's being pushed to the front as a possible 007 I do get a bit miffed.

The Idris Elba story came about due to the data dump that happened at Sony Pictures.
One of the leaked documents was an email from a Sony exec (Amy Pascal) who suggested Idris' name.
The rest was whipped up by the media.
He was not, and never was 'being pushed'. It was simply a debate which he himself put a lid on.

I used his named because it's the highest profile attached to the story. Others have been mooted too, sp. One black actor has already played Bond, granted in audio book form only.
I just don't get it when some push an agenda that ought never be considered. Whilst I know white actors have played Othello, they have been made-up to play the part (don't like the term 'blacked up') and so they should, he's a Moor after all.
I'm glad the fans of this character have made a fuss, it's right and proper. Some characters ought to remain white, as should black characters, that's all.

Thing is - characters have been played by actors of differing races all the time - and for some reason, it doesn't cause ripples.
Miss Moneypenny is now played by a black actress, and for some reason this seemed to pass most people by.
James Bond is a white man and it's highly, highly unlikely that he will ever be played by a black man (on screen).
Look at the furore that Bond fans caused when Daniel Craig got the role, simply because he was blonde.
The chances of a black actor playing him is zero.
But I don't think that this story about The Flash is an equivalency. The number of leading roles for black actresses in Hollywood feature films is slim at the moment. To have that number reduced by changing a character from black to white is not the best way to go here.

perhaps they should start writing and producing their own films then instead of playing the race card ..doesnt seem to be a problem with indians, theyr not complaining...always blacks wanting and demanding
