It doesn't seem to be working there, no.
But let's not judge such it on this basis. There have been racist bigots as long as I can remember.
If we were to judge multiculturalism on moments of friction, then it's only fair that we also judge it on scenarios where is *is* working - where you have friends of whatever race going round to each other's houses, people of different nationalities working harmoniously together, and people of different backgrounds working closely together in the armed forces, health providers, public offices etc.
It's easy to see where multiculturalism fails, and equally easy to overlook where it succeeds.
