If moderate muslims do in fact exist then this request should not be a problem should it?

Who is to say that they don’t? informers are not known for going public about it.
It's a very reasonable request, but one that's been made many times to no avail.
Exactly what woofgang has said.

It appears that Trump knows that moderate Muslims dont report extremism.

Where is the proof Mr Trump?
naomi24

What figures do you have to support this?

How many successful prosecutions have been made as a result from tip offs from the Muslim community?

Why 'no avail'?

Are you saying that moderate Muslims collude to hide extremists?

Not saying you're wrong, just surprised at the conclusion.
The british muslims are doing this
purely because they don't want their kids to die in Syria
Nuh uh Peter Pedent.

Apparently Muslims have been repeatedly asked to cooperate with criminal investigations into extremism 'to no avail'.

evidence PP?

I could prove to you that the world is flat and than man didn't land on the moon via an Internet link.

Be honest - did you simply look up something to prove your point?

I could do the exact same.

Give me a moment.
SP, you asked for figures to support it. I've given you figures to support it.
naomi24

Doesn't prove anything.

Honest...I can see a flaw in the conclusions drawn here.

This is what the figures absolute prove without a shadow of a doubt - that the overwhelming majority of rip offs come from outside the Muslim community.

That's it.

Its a massive leap of logic to conclude that moderate Muslim somehow collude to hide extremists in their midst.

One could easily use the same stats to prove something far more insidious.

For example - how many of these tip offs lead to successful prosecutions?

It's a fallacy to look at one set of statistics and draw broad conclusions.

By the way - this post is inno way proof that I support hardline Muslims who want to throw gay people off tall buildings...just in case the AB 'idioteratti' are reading this...
sp, //This is what the figures absolute prove without a shadow of a doubt - that the overwhelming majority of rip offs come from outside the Muslim community. //

I don't know what that means.

If that report doesn't suit you there are others that conclude similarly.

You asked me to wait a moment for you to find something to prove your point. That was almost an hour and a half ago. I'm still waiting.
I used to believe (and hope) there were moderate Muslims, but I no longer believe that and find most to be two-faced liars. The most peaceable ones seem to be the Ahmadiyyyas, like the Glaswegian shopkeeper, Mr Shah, stabbed to death for offending the sensibilities of the more mainstreamers. Though the Glasgow Central Mosque expressed 'shock' at his murder, its most senior imam has previously honoured a Muslim who murdered such a 'blasphemer'.
In the UK there has never been a prosecution for inciting racial hatred of any Muslim who has urged death on the Ahmadiyyas.

Meanwhile, the Times reports that the government (that means you) are paying Muslim chaplains to minister to the Muslim prison inmates and they are actually inciting them to even further extremism, they are paid £40,000 each to inculcate further loathing of western values, apparently 70% of them are Deobandis, the ones who want all Ahmaddiyyas (and probably everyone else) exterminated.

Salah Abdeslam (Paris attacker) hid in plain sight for four months among the moderate Muslims of Molenbeek.
They were so 'moderate' that when he was caught, they started a riot.
Sorry naomi24...was genuinely going to get back to you, but got tied up with work / dinner / Modern Family / Malbec.
khandro 18.22 has said it for me. I'm not happy about it.
Asking moderate Muslims to provide info on extremists is like asking moderate Catholics to provide info on the IRA.
How are ordinary moderate people supposed to find out this info?
TheChair, They’re asking Muslims to report their suspicions. However, in the main they don’t appear to be doing that, and if you read the link you will see why.

//…experts have noted a great degree of distrust towards the scheme, and even the belief that it is racist by nature. The initiative has drawn criticism from rights advocates and Muslims at large, with its tipoff hotline feature the most controversial issue. This lack of trust has led some prominent Muslim organizations to boycott the program altogether, including one in Waltham that is involved in the community life of thousands of Muslims in East London. Muslim leaders in Newham also came dangerously close to calling for a boycott after accusations arose claiming that the program was “spying on our young people.”//

Incidentally, there is no comparison between Islam and Catholicism.
Stupidly, we shelter vipers in our midst. Wonder why we keep getting bitten.
They have openly declared their intent, but we refuse to believe it.
We deserve whatever happens.
