why the hell do these airlines keep on plying people with drinks? There should be a strict no alcohol policy with flying. Some airlines and airports have only themselves to blame.

Think they must have been well on the way before they got on the plane but if they were behaving at that point then no reason to not allow them to board I suppose. Disgraceful and costly behaviour. They should be ashamed.

Possibly half piste before they boarded gordie, but I agree. The airlines have themselves to blame for some of the incidents. You have got to hope that the "heads" who caused the trouble get charged and are pursued by the operators, police, and everybody who was inconvenienced, for compensation and the full reimbursement of all costs.

Also a tremendous health hazard to drink alcohol at high altitudes. To a very large extent the airlines rely on onboard sales. It makes fares cheaper, and, I suppose, enables more of us to afford to travel.

The article mentions rowdy/disruptive but if they were drunk they got on the plane that way it appears, hardly time to order a drink in the air from Glasgow to Toulouse.

Airlines should indeed vet those boarding rather better.

What I am saying Mikey that is if airlines didn't sell booze and duty frees on flights, fares would go up. The cheap airlines rely on these sales. Half p****d louts should not be allowed on board, unfortunately some airlines are not as strict as they should be. Personally i don't drink anything except water on flights. Lots of it.

People have drinks to relax and calm their fear of flying. The issue is that the servers should be good barkeeps and not serve those who have had enough and who are not reacting well to the drug. Maybe profit is a greater priority for the airlines ?

Of all the thousands of people flying each day these incidents are few and far between so why should the majority be denied a drink.

I disagree - with a three-hour check-in before you can fly, people are bored, and when they are bored, and there is a bar, the result is inevitable.
