// But speaking at the family home last night, the close family member said: “There has been an avalanche of misinformation.
"We don't want to comment on all of this, but what I will say is that 95 per cent of what has been published is incorrect, it is desperately wrong.
"The only truth is that Jack is a Muslim and he is overseas. But everything else is made up and it is just getting worse.” //
The charge will only stick if they can prove that he is fighting for ISIS. They can only do that through evidence from the Security Services, who are often very shy about revealing what they know, and how they know it.

// Exclusive: Mr Letts tells The Independent that he is not a member of Isis but says he fears arrest if he returns to the UK.
A former Oxford schoolboy has denied reports he has joined Isis in an exclusive interview with The Independent.
In his first interview since reports accused him of becoming the first white British man to travel to Syria and join the jihadist group, Jack Letts insists he has travelled to the so-called Islamic State to spread the word of Allah and help "take down" the government of Bashar al-Assad.
"I can speak Arabic and English," he said. "That’s like my only skill. I’ve spent efforts to take down the Syrian government.

// Where is the 100% proof he isn't involved in Terrorism? //
and of course luckily in this country - you dont have to refute an allegation, the Crown has to show it ( beyond reasonable doubt )
thank god - still ....
unfortunately for terrorism - if you have knowledge of it you must declare it whereas most of the time you can cough politely and walk on by .....
Hmm interesting idea - if Johnnie Jihadi stands by a dam in Iraq and says " I am terroristen " does that make him a terrorist ?
and trying to send your son money would not of itself mean you are assisting or funding terrorism .....

If I have this right he’s in IS controlled territory but he doesn’t support IS who are presumably ignoring him (very strange), and he is drawing money his parents are making available to him. That sounds just a little fishy to me. If he doesn’t support IS, why is he in territory controlled by them and who is he helping to take down the government the government of Bashar al-Assad?
I think it's possible that his parents are, understandably, in denial.

If they are/have sent him money, it is unlikely to be large amounts. A few thousands, not tens or hundreds of thousands. It is British policy to remove Ssad, and he claims to be acting for the same result. It will be i teresting to see how this prosecution pans out, the parents don't look like they will just roll over in submission.
anneasquith. I assume they are sending him money for his personal living expenses, as you say, and I think a lot of parents would do the same if their sons had run off to some far flung hell hole. However, in doing so they are enabling him to continue to do whatever it is he’s doing, and if that is construed by the authorities as being in cahoots with IS, then the parents are, in effect, funding terrorism.
Gromit, //It is British policy to remove Ssad, and he claims to be acting for the same result.//
But with whom is he working? He’s in IS territory and he hasn't been killed by IS, so it’s doubtful he’s working with ‘the good guys’.
