Soon after Osbourn announced that mortgages will increase after Brexit, have they forgotten the disastrous ERM which Major took us into, and interest rates rose to 15% in an effort to maintain the pounds parity with the Deautshemark. WE all know what followed!

He’s another one playing with words. He says that Turkey won’t be admitted to the EU for a decade or two (Cameron says not until the year 3000- that’s almost a thousand years!). He continues by saying, “On the one hand it’s claimed that migrants are depressing wages, and on the other that people are ‘flooding in the get a higher national living wage – it’s nonsense”. Not really, Mr Major. They’re flooding in to get a higher wage than they receive in their own countries - albeit low by our standards.

I doubt the UK will exist in the year 3000. If we remain in the EU we will become part of the Emirates long before that. Foreigners own most of London now.
