I watched a bit about Norway's approach on TV earlier. Should it be rolled out across Europe or is it racist?

The best way to deal with this problem is not to facilitate the merging of people with such obviously diverse cultures. The next best way, when they transgress (as they surely will) is to lock them up for a long time and then deport them. Word will soon get round far quicker than any "education" will.
Of course it is not racist. I have never been a racist - I am a culturalist! I will defend my culture against invasion. This seems to me to be a good initiative - but it should be compulsory for all middle-Eastern migrants, men and women (and children over the age of 14).
Looks to be a good idea to me.
"and is not compulsory"

Not much use then. Only going to teach those who want to do the right thing anyway, to such an extent they'll volunteer for instruction; not those who aren't prepared to change.
Arm waving shouty types should be made to sit at the front, arms folded and backs straight.
The majority seem to get what's happening.
Best answer should go to NJ. I agree whole heartedly with his post.
Eddie, //Looks to be a good idea to me.//

Are you serious? Why on earth would you want people here who need to be taught to teach women with respect? I would like an answer please.
Naomi...they are here whether we like it or not so lessons on how to behave can't be a bad thing. Or at least its better than nothing.
I doubt it is a case of wanting more immigrants regardless of where they are from, it's a case of having them, and now they have arrived needing to get them to integrate & behave in an acceptable manner.
ummmm, do you really think they're going to abandon lessons that have been instilled in them from birth that are fundamental to their culture and to their religion? Think again.
I realise we only saw a small snippet in the video, however it seems a good idea overall.
Old_Geezer, ^same question to you. What fools we are!
Mamyalynne, and to you.
Hardly the point. Norway is trying something. May well prove better than not trying something.
OG, It’s precisely the point. I'll believe it when I see it, but I'm in for a long wait. These people are laughing at our stupidity - and we, in our naivety, encourage it.
Better to educate and encourage , rather than throw owns arms up and say nothing can be done.
Naomi...these are human beings as well as Muslims. Not all human beings are capable of hurting people.

These are voluntary lessons...do you think the ones taking them up don't want to learn about our culture?
Mamyalynne, Carry on then - but you fail to understand that the attitude is inbred into the whole culture and since that culture emanates from a religion that is deemed by its adherents to be faultless, regardless of the good intentions of the 'educators', that isn't going to change. The sooner we recognise that and acknowledge that the better. Frankly, it's a complete waste of time and effort.
ummmm, see above.
