What a ruddy marvelous tribute to Jo Cox, as I am sure we will all agree.

On the basis that no one has thought get fit to state what is surely the *** obvious then : Yes, I agree. And the Prime Minister deserves a thumbs up for his fine words. Can I have 'best answer'? lol

It was dreadful, there can be no doubt about that but what about all the other people who have been killed doing their jobs? I am sure she was a very nice woman and her family loved her but most people in the country didn't know her. There was a miner killed on Thursday/Friday and only a brief mention about him. For his family life will never be the same again either.
It's a shame for the miner in question, Boto, but it's the nature of Jo Cox's death that shook the nation. She was an esteemed MP (and hardly a controversial character) and a young mum, brutally assassinated in the street. When something this shocking takes place it takes the public time to process it and come to terms with it.
Lord knows how her family will ever come to terms with her senseless murder.

// I have to say I am slightly baffled by the amount of public and media grieving.//
agreed.
the whole thing has turned into a revoting tear jerking luvvie-fest with moments of unintentional hilarity such as AOG insisting he didnt shout the dread words: Britain First - death to traitors !
revolting
but revoting sort of looks good

^^^^ Same as jambutty.
A tragedy for her family, but for the rest of us?
Like Svejk, I found it all rather stomach churning, and as I said on another thread, most of us had never heard of her until last Thursday, and will struggle to remeber her name in a ferw months time.
I went from thinking it would be an “in” vote at the start, to feeling more confident about an “out” vote about 10 days ago. I now think the bleeding hearts could swing it for “in.”
I feel so much sympathy for her family especially her two little children who will be wondering where Mummy is - poor little things.
But this is over the top coverage by the media - obviously politically motivated as the vote is this week which will sway some who were undecided - to "vote for Jo". Would it have been the same coverage if it had happened next week?
