I hope this blatant lying by Cameron has not been disclosed too late.
Soon as the referendum is done and dusted the EU will start talks on Turkey's admission! That is not what Cameron told us.
Trade War tariffs to punish us? Not what a German Industriast says."The EU would be mad to impose Trade Tariffs"
And other lies etc etc.
Can any Tory supporter (me included) trust this man. His loyalty is to himself not to the country he is supposed to Govern to assure it's best interests!

This justifies them making a front page feature of it on polling day. (They can always publish a one paragraph apology in a few days if it turns out they were wrong)
And people wonder why the DM has a bad reputation ...

There is a whole raft of new EU regulations, and directives, that have been put on the back burner and kept quiet whilst the referendum is being conducted. This was a deliberate policy to blind the British electorate to the truth and reality of what is to come. We are only hearing of some of the new aims because of internal leaks and whistle blowers. None have been denied once revealed. Be afraid, very afraid.

I'm unsure the original source but we have know talks would resume right after the referendum for some time; and much of the media seems to confirm.
I doubt I'm the only one who doesn't trust some country will stand out to veto Turkey if the motion that they are close enough to join is put out to those having a say. God willing we won't be there to be directly affected though.
As will any Schengen option; but if the worst happens and we don't escape then joining or not is hardly the point. It's more to camp on the northern border of France trying to smuggle in, and surely once they have an EU passport we'd need a reason not to grant them access since, border control or not, they'd have the paperwork and *our* EU blessing.

"Do you think we'll sign up to Schengen then? "
We won't have to. Our derogation which was kindly allowed to continue when the Lisbon Treaty was signed will be ditched at the next Treaty change.
It is true that we (and all the other 27 member nations) have effectively a veto on new membership. However, it is extremely unlikely that the UK (whether Cameron is PM or not) would use such a measure. It's not being a "good European" to block such "progress" of the European (and West Asian) project.
Believe me if you care to or not if you don't, but the electorate of this country will rue the day they voted to remain should we do so today.

jim; //Each member state of the EU must agree before any new country can become a member. //
Could you please give some sort of reference for that assertion. I have searched, and though it is the case that it requires full approval of all member states for a prospective country to become a suitable candidate (which Turkey has had), once that country fulfils the 72 requirements of membership, its entry then become automatic and uncontestable.
