Still a few votes to come, but they'll only confirm the inevitable.

Congratulations to those who voted to leave. Let's see what the future holds. Try not to gloat too much...

EU referendum: Pound hits lowest level since 1985

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-36611512

25 minutes to come up with that, mikey? lol.

It's already rebounding.
rebounding??? the $ is now at 1,36 and the Euro 1,26 - a slide of yet another cent in the last ten minutes...

I agree with Fallon, Corbyn should go......Labour Party really stuffed this one up.
^^ Sorry that's what I meant.Typo.
Murrymints, 'Naughty Nicola' was quite clear that another Scottish independence referendum would be called if the UK as a whole voted to leave the EU. It was specifically allowed in the original Scottish referendum conditions.
If there was a new general election mikey ... who do you think will fight it out?

I can't see Corbyn beating Boris.
@mikey

So, as the House of Commons are firmly against leaving the EU, it will interesting to see what will happen now.
//

What part of 52/48 do they not understand? The people have spoken.

Actually, this typifies the ideological gap between party loyalties (of voters) and the respective "party line" stance with regard to the EU and the way people vote when political party is not a factor on the ballot paper.

Ultra-democracy would be single-issue votes all the way, like this. No package bundles ("partys"), just concentration on issues that matter to people.

rebounding???

yes, rebounding.

Eddie it requires authority from westminster ..will not happen.and as I said this is NOT a vote for separation from UK...NOTHING has changed in that respect

Rather too early to determine the fallout. I know that democracy has to have a loser, but it's still hard not to feel sad and angry right now if you voted for Remain. The results were so remarkably divided along various local and national divides and Scotland as a whole voted very strongly for a future that they have, again, not got.

I still hope, though, that now, of all times, we meet the new future we've chosen as a nation while being as united as possible.
and Scotland as a whole voted very strongly for a future that they have, again, not got.

again?
Hypo....the all the main political parties have the same policy to the EU....all of them want to stay in. So perhaps what is needed now is a new General Election !
Jaguar Land Rover has said "today is just business as usual".

The firm said: "We are a British business with a strong manufacturing base in this country, we call Britain home and we remain committed to all our manufacturing sites and investment decisions.

"We respect the views of the British people and in line with all other businesses, Jaguar Land Rover will manage the long-term impact and implications of this decision: nothing will change for us, or the automotive industry, overnight."
No gloating from me jim.

I said when the referendum was announced that all I wanted was a chance to have my say. The debates have been interesting and I've tried to be constructive throughout. We need to get on now.
NJ....I agree. Even though this was a narrow win for Brexit, Dave now needs to either resign and call an election, or try to persuade the HOC to vote for the legislation to leave the EU.

Somebody needs to look after the 16,141,241who voted to stay, as well as the ones who voted to leave.
//all of them want to stay in. So perhaps what is needed now is a new General Election ! //

If all of them wanted to stay in what difference would a new general election make?
speaking now on BBC ..not resigning or calling election
good speech...very magnanimous...staying on to see his term out...seemed quite emotional...respect
till October....soz...
//staying on to see his term out//

Mikey's just posted that he's resigning before October.

????
murraymints, cross posted. Thanks for clarifying.
