Clearly they do not want independence but they do want to leave the UK so surely they should be the SACRUBUK party.

it's the Scottish Anyone Can Rule Us but UK party
Despite my relatively few talents, TTT, I'm not psychic.

That's back pain isn't it?
Why do the Scots get the blame for everything ?
Scottish Anyone Can Rule Us but UK party

Genius ... can't wait for the next one.

no one is blaming them, just trying to understand what "independence" means in Scotland.
Buying your own drink?
Why do people give the Scots a hard time over this? I would have thought that anyone who voted leave in the EU referendum woild understand that they want control of their own destiny and not to be run by a Government that they have little sway over and I thought the remain voters would applaud their stance on wanting to remain in the EU?

haggis:" I would have thought that anyone who voted leave in the EU referendum woild understand that they want control of their own destiny and not to be run by a Government that they have little sway over " - Yep understand 1000% and I applaud that aim and would vote for Scottish inpenedence if I could. What I cannot fathom is why you'd want to be in the EU that would nullify any momentary "independence" you may achieve.
About one week ago, I couldn't fathom that myself TTT, and even said as much to a "Yes Scotland" friend. What matters, I think, is the judgement of influence. The EU has relatively less control over its members' affairs than has been made out, certainly compared to the UK's; and where the vies of the Scots and rest of the UK do diverge it both seems to be far more acute, and there's far less the Scottish can do about that.

Maybe it's still a mistake to go for independence, and certainly I wouldn't trust myself to have made the right decision on the issue over the last few days. But one way or another I don't think it's seen as sacrificing control to be a part of the EU. Or, at any rate, that rings rather hollow when the control Scotland has over its own destiny is sacrificed within the UK also.

yeah but out of the frying pan, into, another frying pan, makes no sense.
Doesn't that depend on the relative temperature of the two frying pans?

It will depend on the nature of the deal we get; I suspect, in the end, the UK will still exist in five years, because at the moment the deal we are likely to get is not likely to be as extreme as feared, but we'll see.
Lets leave the Uk to join the United States of Europe, that's independance for you!
Seeing as Scotland want to cut the rest of UK out why not Scottish National Independence Party, or SNIP for short.
Vulcan, I'd give you best answer for that If I could. Very good. :o)
The Scotch should be careful what they wish for. Wee Jimmy Krankie was sent packing from the EU with a flea in her ear. They can't afford to keep you. Oil and scots whiskey won't maintain the socialist paradise you've been luxuriating in.
Scottish we cant rule ourselves so why do we need a party
