Genuine labour supporters trying to save their party or mischievous Tories lining up to vote Mr Corbyn back in?

Personally, I wish labour would get it's act together. My long held opinion is tha a good Government is made by a strong opposition holding their every move to account.

There are electorates and electorates, of course! In the case of the Tories, only the 150,000 members of that party make the final choice as to who will be their leader and, at present, our Prime Minister.
In Labour's case, much the same is true, except that candidates do not have to be reduced to two before the members have their say.
In neither case, does the wider UK electorate have a say.

There is a hardline core of his supporters and in any group hard line usually have a very loud voice and muster support through that.

The longer they faff around the better for the Torys. If Labour can get a change in double quick time they will (hopefully for them) have an effective leader before the Torys get May in.

If Corbyn stays or they don't get an effective one they are dead in the water and will only get votes from dissafected remainers.

If there is one role a political party has, and I make no concession to my thinking they are bad for democracy, it is to remind the public that there is an alternative path to the one that's presently popular. Maybe the new recruits ARE those in the electorate trying to ensure that alternative is still in the public awareness in case they wish to return to it.

What the parliamentary Labour Party is attempting is undemocratic and an insult to Labour members. The quicker they leave and form a new ToryLite with the LibDems, the better.
Hopefully the 60,000 will deter anyone challenging Cobyn because they are sure to lose.

The only way to get the Labour Party back from the ToryLite Blairites is to deselect MPs who are out of touch with the members. Especially as there may soon be an election.

It is worth noting that there about 200 Labour MPs that need de-selecting. Divide that by 60,000, and you get 1000 new members per constituency. Enough to remove them and put in someone loyal to the members.

These are only my opinions. When you start a political party it should be for a cause that you believe in and you should be willing to live and die, metaphorically, for that cause. I believe that is what Jeremy Corbyn is trying to do in the Labour Party, taking them back to the values they stood for. Why, because there is now a situation in this country where we have professional politicians. They read politics at university, join a party and that’s their career. They have no grasp of reality in either their own constituencies or the country as a whole. It seems to be all about pandering to certain types of voters and personal power-struggles.

UK politics seems to follow US politics, hence the recent slanging matches. How long will it be before Ray Winstone is Prime Minister?

Corbyn roles as Labour Leader is completely untenable. Most of his MP's no longer support him.....he can't even fill the dozens of vacancies that he has in his shadow Cabinet.

As most people have already said, we need an effective opposition, and until we have the next Election, Labour IS the opposition.

Corbyn should resign with immediate effect and force a leadership election.

Again, Naomi, you use the phrase, 'THE electorate'. Upon what basis do you make the claim you do make? The wider electorate - if that is the one you are referring to out of the three I listed - has never had an option to vote for Corbin.
They may very well "not want him", as you say, but you don't know that. Until yesterday, there was a widespread belief that almost every right-winger "wanted" Boris Johnson as Prime Minister...now we know better!

They have NEVER supported him, which is why they have want to totally disregard the members who elected him.
He got a huge vote, the biggest ever for a Labour leader. 59.5% voted for him compared with 19% for Burnham in second. There are plenty of Labour Party activists who can work with Corbyn if the ToryLite current Labour MPs cannot. Disloyal MPs need to be de-selected and replaced with genuine Labour supporters. 300 new members per constituency is enough to remove them.
There may be an election as soon as October, so removals need to happen asap.

On the basis that I’ve seen no public support for him – none whatsoever. The same cannot be said for Boris Johnson. Even Mikey, who never criticises anything ‘Labour’, and who insisted that Corbyn could make Prime Minister, now says that Corbyn's position is untenable and that he should go. (See his post above). It doesn’t take much working out.

I agree with Gromit. The Islington dinner party faction, who despise the working class, should form their own party (Social Democrats?) and stand, for champagne socialists, against 'real' Labour candidates.

The bad losers who wanted Burnham said Labour would never win anything again with Corbyn as leader.
Four by-election wins later (and London Mayor) , the ToryLite Labour MPs realised their prophecy was nonsense. The vote of no confidence in Corbyn was not because he did poorly in the Remain campaign. They were looking for any excuse to remove him. If mass de-selection are the result, that will be sweet justice.
