It was mentioned on Radio 4, about noon today, that ex-pat pensioners are finding their UK pensions buy10% less Euros than they did before the vote to leave.
In these difficult times will they just need to tighten their belts?

\\\that ex-pat pensioners are finding their UK pensions buy10% less Euros\\

That is true......costing me approx €7,000 per year and i did not have the opportunity to vote.

Until we officially leave the Eu we have to wait for things to settle down
They may have to dip into their winter heating allowance ? -)
Sqad, £7,000 per year? That is over £134 per week, more than some pensioners get in total.Slight exaggeration?
After Brexit the pensions maybe frozen for those expats living in Europe, the same as it is if they currently live outside the EU.
They survived in 2013 why wouldn't they in 2016?
Sqad
It's a cruel old world. My elderly F.I.L was born ,bred and studied at Edinburgh Uni (Medic) and was a GP and Physio at Halesowen FC in Birmingham where he still resides. He wasn't allowed a vote on the Scottish referendum but a Polish or Latvian chambermaid newly arrived to work in Edinburgh was given a vote!! You makes your bed......
I'd just like Sqad to justify his claim of losing £7.000 PA
Danny....not sure that I need to justify my finances.........but as it is you:

Annual pension.....€70,000 per year.......10% drop due t0 Brexit is €7,000 per year loss.
Sqad, I think the OP was referring to Oaps living on a pension alone, not those on a private pension.
danny....quite true.
But pensions to me are pensions....that amount of money that you earn, save and rely on for your retirement.
As I said at 14.20 we will have to wait to see what happens.
Since 2008 it has been all gravy, Sqad. Didn't you look after that extra money?
Since 2008 it has been rubbish for savers and investors.
-Talbot- "extra money" what is "extra" about it?

That was MY money, that i had worked hard to obtain. "Extra?" don't know what you mean.
hc4361.......^^^ exactly.
I had a mortgage when the interest rate was 15% and I had no savings. Now I have no mortgage but I do have savings and the interest rates are not doing me any good at all.

Bah humbug
unless you have at least 150k in your pension pot to but an annuity I wouldn't bother, you will recieve next to nothing, I work in the business and I see some pitiful pensions, 15 or 20 pounds per annum.

Dave.
Since 2008 it has been rubbish for savers and investors.

We're talking about the exchange rate.
And why has it been rubbish for investors?
