I saw this earlier in The Guardian. Isn't this awful ? What a place Britain has now become.

I have four Grandchildren at School , they may not always get along with their teachers but they know to have respect for them - very little bother at any of their (3) schools.
I live in a block of nine flats, seven of my neighbours are younger than I am by some way - all are courteous, helpful and ready to do odd jobs, shopping or whatever I need.
Yes I've met some snotty teens but I've also met some obnoxious older people too - some have been downright awful.
None of this takes away from the horror of the attack in the OP, but I state again , it's the minority that grab the headlines.

Dreadful. Why did anyone think that urinating in the street was OK anyway?
It seems to be on a par with the 'selfie' (selfish) idea that you are the only one who matters and anyone who opposes you in any way is an enemy, totally wrong and therefore deserving of any punishment that is meted out. The law should not be needed to impart respect for others - I think it is on a par with the 'Old, white people Die!' slogan after Brexit. There is something very wrong somewhere in our society. :(

Waiting for a train yesterday, a railway chap on the platform informed people that the train coming in would be standing room only. A young girl of about 15-16 demanded to know why she couldn't have a seat when she had bought a ticket and was entitled to one. Every time the poor man tried to explain to her, she shouted him down, told him he" must be a bit thick anyway to be doing that job" she certainly had never been taught respect.
