AOG,

The Press Association have now corrected that anyone was arrested. So no injustice was done to anyone yelling derogitory remarks. So stop saying there was.

I do have concerns. It could be seen as a provocation, and escalate. But it didn't because the police behaved in a very professional manner, and police it really well.
## No one was arrested.
Press Association: // Clarification: Police say the man escorted from the scene was believed to be a bus passenger. He was not arrested. // ##

And wasn't he mixed race?
Judging from the picture in AOG's link, he wasn't white.
There are many instances where folk carry out unlawful activities but if the police arrested everyone involved, the whole system would grind to a halt. No doubt the police examined the situation, assessed the risks involved and took appropriate action.

600 EDL at this protest in London in 2013, outside a mosque

//I see no reason at all for this demonstration. The shootings in America have nothing to do with this country, or Brixton in particular. It may be an act of 'solidarity' but it is utterly pointless//

I agree with you 100%. I bet the black people of the USA didn't even hear about Mark Duggan in the UK let alone venture out on the streets and protest. Totally pointless in this country to hack off the people of London twice unless the ulterior motive was mischief and provocation. If that was their ploy then it failed. Still they will try and wind up Liverpool next.
I agree with Corbyloon - here are two bikers totally disregarding the law in front of police officers but no action was taken. Rightly in my opinion

Have you got a point to go with that post hc?
Which post, Talbot?
your 12:22 post
It's in reply to AOG's post:

Had those vast numbers of protesters been whites protesting at the actions of some blacks or Muslims, the protest would have never been allowed to take place

Oh, so one just have to threaten a likelihood of violent disruption, and the police will leave you alone?

Under a threat to police, the general public and a likelihood of racist violence breaking out, the Home Secretary should never have allowed this protest to take place.

We do not want the troubles we now see taking place in the USA, to travel over to this country.

If that had been your opening gambit it would have made for a better thread.

/// Marches are banned very infrequently. There have been three bans relating to planned English Defence League demonstrations in the last twelve months in Bradford, Leicester and Telford. The ban on the Tower Hamlets march is the first in the Metropolitan Police area since the Public Order Act 1986 came into force ///

I wouldn't have banked on it, some don't change their views, when certain criticisms are raised.
I don't understand at all why they are protesting. This is Britain, police are rarely armed. Why should they cause trouble here for something that occurred in the USA? All lives matter, anyway. If they are separating out 'black' lives then they are, i.m.o. being racist.
// Oh, so one just have to threaten a likelihood of violent disruption, and the police will leave you alone? //

I ask again why do you constantly belittle the police and criticise what was a good bit of policing? And you were not there, so you have no idea why the event was policed in the way that it was.

// Under a threat to police, the general public and a likelihood of racist violence breaking out, //

There was no such threat. Nothing like that happened, there was a very minor incident. The police were fully in control at all times and a successful police operation oversaw the demonstration.

// the Home Secretary should never have allowed this protest to take place. //

I am not sure permission was sought. It looks like an impromptu protest. Theresa May is rather busy, and we do not have an effective Government at the moment.
The protest was allowed to take place, I imagine, because it is not unlawful to protest.....

The *need* for the protest, however, is a little more difficult to justify.
All lives matter,

Don't dare go on Twitter and utter those words, jourdain.
