I am all for gender equality and balance. What I wonder is whether it would actually stop before the other is more equal than the previously more equal, and then whether there would then arise voices calling for gender equality and balance in the opposite direction.
I don't know. Anyway you count it, either men or women, girls or boys, are going to outdo the other. As long as everyone's doing ok, is it worth arguing about? And as far as I can see females are doing ok in world politics.
Perhaps I am naive, but I would trust a woman more so than a member of my sex. Women are , in my opinion, more sensible than men who wish to keep them down because of fear that they (men) will lose their unwarranted power. Hence the reason you have never had a female Pope or Archbishop of Canterbury.
