Seems like sensible advice to me. I already take Vitamin C and a Halibut Liver Oil capsules every day.

What do we all think about this advice ?

I used to take them one time, will start again as I spent 6 months indoors last year, and I always use total sunblock when out in hot sun to avoid nasty itchy rash. Baths x x

People should get out more.
I saw that too. If I take anymore tablets, I'm gonna start rattling! Lol.

I already take cholesterol, blood pressure tablets, B12 and Krill oil.
People *should* get out more, but we do not have enough consistently sunny weather in this country for it to be beneficial.
I think it's a good idea. I've been taking them for several years...since learning my levels were quite low.
Also if you put sunscreen on, you're effectively blocking the sun from your skin, so no Vit D is penetrating.
A good idea, especially for those who are housebound.
...OR office bound.
Those too.
I think it's a good idea for those who find it difficult to get out while the sun is shining. My son was found to be vit D deficient, it's played havoc with him. He works indoors and finds it very difficult to get outside enough. He's on tablets from Dr at the moment but he'll be taking supplements when these finish.
It is possible to derive some Vitamin D from foods such as meat, oily fish, egg yolks & liver.
We're told to avoid the sun but when we do we put ourselves in danger of rickets and heaven knows what else.
Bit d should be in the water supply in Scotland. :-)
I think I've managed up until now so I don't know what has supposed to have changed that I should suddenly need topping up.
OG, one reason Vitamin D is prescribed is for bone density,,As we get older there is always a danger of osteoporosis
I'll probably cope with the oily fish, steaks, cheese omelettes etc. ;-)
OG, I also eat those foods, among others, but I still got hit with osteoporosis.
