mikey - be nice to me and use little words that I don't have to look up.

Can I vote for Obama - either Mr or Mrs

:-)

wolfie....no, worst luck. That privilege ended with Franklin D. Roosevelt.
I'd vote against anyone who tried to meddle in the Brexit vote and used veiled threats about being at the back of the queue for trade agreements with one of his biggest allies!
Luckily, the constitution doesn't allow him a third term.
Hadn't realised that the Obamas are that old.
If the Obama's could have a third term and both stood I know who I'd vote for.It certainly wouldn't be him.Michelle Obama seems to express far more passion about American life and Politics than her feeble husband whose structured delivery and largely lacklustre performance are thankfully coming to an end.

well FDR was re elected in the land of the Free in Jan 1945 - with not a look at the vice president ( hopelessly incompetent or as Truman said - the vice-presidency aint worth a bucket of poss )
and they found that they had erm 'elected' Truman by April 1945

I agree Truman was later 're elected' in place of Dewey

Clinton and Trump are the most umpopular candidates in history
but you know - anything is possible in America
( and in any ordered set, there has to be a least element )
I don't understand the reason for the two term rule. If people want a third term, why not?
In the third term the incumbent might start showing symptoms on megalomania
We've seen it here with long term PMs, Blair saving the world, and Thatcher adopting the Royal 'We'.

I thought / I was told it as a direct effect of FDR being triumphantly re elected and croaking 16 weeks into office
