In all seriousness, though, I don't want Corbyn anywhere near Downing Street. Still don't know what to make of Theresa May, but I suppose we have four years or so most likely to look at how good (or not) she is.

""When asked which leader they would prefer in Downing Street, 29% of Labour voters opted for the Conservative Party's new PM"
- yes mikey the key word here is "Labour" - 29% of Labour would rather have the Tory leader, is that not a worry in Mikey land? How many Labour seats will that turn blue next GE?

The public tend to favour their leaders being replaced. John Major and Gordon Brown both benefitted from a honeymoon period after their elevation. It is largely due to the public being fed up with the previous leader rather than a judgement of the opposition leader.
Labour are unelectable at the moment and the public know that, which is reflected in this poll. The 29% are realists, facing an inevitable truth.
I don't think this poll tells us anything we don't already know. If Corbyn wins the leadership vote by 71%, I think he would be happy. I also have doubts about these people being Labour voters. A Labour voter would not support the Tories. They are more likely to be floating voters who swap parties, but last time they voted Labour.
