I'm not suggesting the mental illness line come from the killers, Baldric. I can see why the authorities raise that aspect and try to divert attention away from publicity for the terrorists' cause (whatever that is).
I think it absurd that British police aren't armed, but that would not prevent a nutter, Islamic or not, from stabbing you in the back in a crowded situation.
We'll have to wait and see whether he was another home grown terrorist brought up in Belgium or whether he was a fairly recent asylum seeker or legal/illegal immigrant. Have you got any info on this TTG?

What the hell has that got to do with it? His actions were in the name of Islam, there are no shades of grey - is that what you are suggesting?
We have as a people lost faith and instead of religious mania motivating attacks, it would have been rare I think, we now have the notional heaven-on-earth that is The Caliphate.
^^^ Nor do I. Especially when they're already crammed with the bad and dangerous to know.
More hospitals to deal with mental illness might be the answer.
OMG , cannot get my head around some peoples thinking !!

Read the post above it from TTG. I am not suggesting anything- that's all in your anti Islam mindset imagination. I was answering TTG who asked about free movement. Does that help?
dieseldick, if a man was on a downward spiral that might bring him through mental illness to sectarian violence would an intervention from the health service not be a good thing?
The answer you quoted was in direct response to this:
Peter Pedant:
"I dont think we should be filling our prisons with mad people."
No mention of Islamic terror there. Prison isn't the answer to mental health problems.
