Of course, her evidence will have to be investigated but she doesn't seem the fanciful type to me.

The 'kicking' if it did happen, is a bit of a red herring. He did not go into cardiac arrest because he was kicked.
The man died during his arrest for a relatively minor offence, so it is clear that he didn't get the care that he should have.

As the evidence that he was kicked has still to be tested in an Inquiry, its difficult to know whether it played a part in his death or not. It certainly can't have helped.

I don't think trying to strangle a man to death is a minor offence

I find it difficult to envisage police offices kicking a prone suspect in front of witnesses.

That's not to say it did not happen - but in a melee, it's perfectly possible to assume that getting near to a prone body equates with kicking - when it is not.
