Since France has allowed them to enter and not removed them back from whence they came, then it could be argued that France has a responsibility for a safety net level of aid, as they are guests in their country.

I feel that these charities add to the problem in Calais and other ports as the illegal immigrants (not refugees) do not want to move as they are getting all the aid they need in order to survive. I also think that France has created the problem in allowing them to congregate and set up camp where they have.

I don't see that it matter whether one claims to be Christian or not. Intelligent folk, Christians or not, can work out when the head needs to rule the heart and not be a sap.
A balance for helping others in need is already agreed, and this requires the refugees to remain refugees in the first safe land they reached, rather than chance their arm and push on in the hope they'd find some dupe to give them what they demand, instead of what they were entitled to.

There are people who are starving over there - they are seeking a better life for themselves.
Are you telling me that if you were in the same position you would not flee your country in search of a better and safer life?
