the tour bus went to it ( after a vote of course )
and the guide gave a homily to the teenagers present on respect

and basically said to the old europeans - when you visit a place where so many deaths tooj place no one of you speak but we have to tell the others ....

perhaps they were taking 'in america anything goes' too seriously
Definately disrespectful, it is plain bad manners.
I don't find it disrespectful.

A blow up doll is tasteless regardless of where they are. Like someone posted earlier they could have just been going from A to B.

Ummm > I don't find it disrespectful.

If you aver that it is in bad taste to carry a blow up doll in public and, allowing for the fact that the group may just have been passing through,is it not still a disrespectful act in itself?

Not really. I don't think in this instance that disrespect was intended. Thoughtless maybe but not disrespect.

> I don't think in this instance that disrespect was intended.

Perhaps not but a staggering lack of thought from supposedly intelligent males.
Yes, I agree with that. Alcohol makes people do stupid things and thoughtless things.

I have a cousin that won't speak to anyone for days after a night out...just in case!!

In sp1814's world one is often criticised for daring to use the words Islam, Muslims or ethnic minorities, yet he himself will often switch the debate over to "White British" when non whites are under debate.
Islay

/// They drink to much they run around half naked and their manners are disgusting! ///

The half naked bit is only acceptable at your own hen nights it would seem.

I will let sp himself address that point..

Some of the debates turn into 'I slam' rather than 'Islam'.There are occasions where too many personal differences get in the way of sensible discussion about religious matters, particularly concerning Islam.

AOG must have had fun searching for that picture on the interweb.

^ maybe reminds him of his bookings years ago :)
A short lived career I would ass ume.
I never said it was acceptable at hen nights did I AOG therefore please do not put words in my mouth!
I fail to see how anyone 'passes through' Ground Zero, but if anyone is within sight of the area, I think an appropriate level of respect should be shown by everyone, from every nation.

Sadly, there will always be numpties who lack the basic intelligence to think beyond their immediate orbit, and to consider others, and that is what leads to nonsense like this.

So yes, it is wrong and unacceptable to take 'selfies' and laugh and smile at this site - it still haw raw memories for thousands of Americans who lost people or were there on the day - the Visitors' Centre is staffed only by people with a direct connection to that day, so for their sakes alone, a little sensitivity is required.
I rather think it was the inflatable doll, not the selfies (they sadly seem to be commonplace both there and indeed everywhere as evidenced in the report) - it would have been rather pleasing had the Police inflicted a puncture wound to the said inflatable.
