is the party over? not according to comrade corbyn.

apparently there's a multitude of the formerly disenfranchised who gave up voting labour because of disillusionment with Blair, Brown and Milliband, who will now come pouring in to a reinvigorated socialist labour party and will sweep them to victory in 2020.
There is no reason for the Labour Party to exist any more.

The Trots have survived for a long time by impersonating the Conservatives, and representing themselves as "Tory Light"

But they are an anachronism. If Labour ceases to exist ... will anyone really notice?
They will in Brighton.
lol ... I suppose so.
I'm really worried about Labout ceasing to exist as a serious 'Opposition' party. Opposition is essential to maintain some sort of balance.

We have a horrible situation in UK at the moment. The Labour Leadership does not represent its Parliamentary party and a whole swathe of its ancient membership. The Conservative Leaership does not represent the majority of its Parliamentary party members (Europe) and is teetering on not representing the majority of its membership and so facing a rebellion.

I can't remember (or equate) an historical precedent. Does anyone else agree with me?

Nearest I can get is the 2nd Civil War, but even that does not equate. Will be back when AB allows.
Labour has been in its death throes for a long time – in fact the Labour Party that was died years ago. I thought perhaps Ed Miliband was the final nail in its coffin, but there was a little space left for an old rusty one – Jeremy Corbyn.
The party certainly isn't over but it may be a private "members only" function for a while.
With the neighbours occasionally calling for the music to be turned down.

expect more of this, after the leadership contest result is announced, and the corbynistas set out to reshape the party in His image:-

I cant believe they think they actually have chance of winning the next election with their current policies and leader. Are they totally deluded or stupid or both? They obviously don't know anything about the British electorate at all.
Dave, //I cant believe they think they actually have chance of winning the next election //

Arrogance. They don't realise just how disconnected from the electorate they are.
HOPE SO !
