They probably are - but rational analysis confirms that they have no chance of that happening in the foreseeable future.

This should be seen as what it is - people agitating, and ignored accordingly.

the issue of badgers isn't simply one of culling the party in power and it'll be sorted. nor is it one of party politics, left or right, per-se. farming is on its backside and tb in cattle could well see off many dairy farms; in 2001 tony blair would happily have let british farming die at the hands of foot and mouth, until it was realised that actually britain needs its farms and farmers, if only to keep the countryside looking nice for the tourist dollar (or euro). if you want to debate the ifs and buts of badger culling hereiam, you really need to start a new thread.

The image of 'culling Tories' is a simple and inappropriate metaphor used by people who simply want to cause an instant reaction - they probably think that 'cull' means kill.#

What it is not is a political metaphor, or a meaningful point about the badger / TB debate.

You can over-think these things.

What jack has failed to add - probably on the basis that it is obvious - s that freedom of expression is an enshrined and valuable aspect of our culture - but abuse of it is illegal.

It comes down to this - are you able to speak freely - yes.

Are you allowed to use that freedom of speech to break the law - no.

This incident did not break the law - no arrests for speaking, however unpleasant their speeches may have been.

I presume their purpose in demonstrating was not only to voice their opposition, but to encourage others to join them. It seems to me that displays of ignorance such as this are counter-productive. I can’t see their methods impressing many. Labour digs the hole ever deeper.

I can't see it. I can see Socialist Worker placards, the People's Assembly, and some Unions, but I cannot see any Labour Party protestors.
I would imagine the last thing the Labour Party wpyld be doing is calling for an election NOW.
