I think Mr Fakllon and I have different ideas about the 'British values' we should teach our young people.
Training them in the arts of war is not my way of instilling the values I would want to teach them.
You can't really get a lot of the essence of respect for your fellow man when your education revolves around pretending to kill them.

For the record - Kenny Everett thought he was booked to produce some ironic comedy for light relief, he was aghast when he realised that his tongue-in-cheek comments were being taken seriously by a baying crowd of Tory toffs.

When it comes to military matters, I am a left-wing hawk. I believe in effective Armed Forces, that are properly financed supported and big enough in numbers.
There does appear to be a problem with extremists, in a minority of our Schools, but this isn't the way to deal with it. This is fodder for the swivel-eyed Home Counties set, that go to the Tory Party Conference, to have their own prejudices reinforced. its a dog whistle moment, and will be forgotten about at the next Cabinet meeting, when Marm tells him he can't the money.
