Decided To Part Ways With My Dentist.what Do You Think ?
18 Answers
I have been with this NHS dentist surgery for 7 years, although the dentists I see changes from time to time. I have been with this one for about 4 to 5 years. She does not do a thorough Check up, you know looking under your tongue and around your mouth and throat etc.I should have said something months ago, I hinted but she just said she had looked in my mouth. On the way out this week I mentioned to the receptionist what had transpired , she got the dentist to ring me and denied everything, she offered me a place with another dentist that only comes in on a Wednesday. This has left a bad taste in my mouth, excuse the pun.

You will have lost nothing and maybe gained a great dentist. Mine only works one day a week (he is getting on a bit tho' younger than me!) that poses no problem for me.
My dentist is a treasure when it comes to treatment, but I must admit the check ups are very minimal these days. However if you're not happy, try the Wednesday one, but don't expect too much from any of them when it comes to checkups, they get minimal fees for these few minutes and are more interested in the treatment sessions. Its all to do with the way they draw down the money these days.
I'm not keen on my dentist. My 'old' dentist retired and he was so thorough, the old school really, but I fully trusted him. His replacement sounds just like your dentist tamaris, her check up lasts only a small fraction of my 'old' dentist's and she doesn't have a nurse taking down all the details of my various teeth. I didn't think it was easy to change though.
This is timely, I changed dentists yesterday as I've been on Denplan for about 20 years but can't afford it anymore now I've retired. Just registered with an NHS dentist and was thinking last night about how thorough my previous dentist was and how he always checked for anything odd. Am wondering how the new one will be.
