Correct Response If Faced With A Clown?

Is retaliation the correct response here? If faced with this what do you think your reaction would be? Is it perfectly justified to react violently and how would the police view it if you hurt somebody who in their opinion was doing a "Harmless prank"?

For me, I am happy to see these pathetic people given a bit of a hiding. They seem to be picking easy targets. Why arent they scaring people coming out of body building gyms or karate classes..... Pathetic!

It would be a harmless prank i you were doing it to someone that you knew and you knew how to react.

To do it to a random stranger is cruel and pointless. Somebody will get seriously hurt.

I don't think violence is ever a correct response.

But that said, it is inevitable that with the rush of primeval adrenaline that will follow such a 'prank', some are going to go for the 'fight' rather than the 'flight' option.

As I have opined previously, this nonsense will result in broadly two responses - someone will jump and say "You really scared me ... that was funny ...", the other 99% who will jump and say "What the ^+*" do you think you're doing you sick "&$)!" quite possibly followed by a physical interpretation of their feelings.

It's a risk you take if you want to be a 'clown'.

When she attended teacher training college as a mature student in her mid-twenties, a rather immature student reached forward during a lecture and touched her bottom.

She turned round and told him that if he touched her again, she would knock him straight off his chair.

2 clowns were allegedly spotted at a local high school, approx. 3 miles from where we live.

As a result, I heard on the grapevine that a small vigilante group then took responsibility for waiting at the school the next day in case the clowns returned. I can only imagine to take matters in to their own hands and I wouldn't imagine it was to give them " a bit of a ticking off".

I fear that this will escalate. I appeals to a small minority of dim-witts with too much time on their hands, craving a bit of internet fame at the expense of others.

Some may say its not too different from "Trigger Happy TV" and similar programmes that have been successful and capitalise on suprising unsuspecting members of the public. But this is too sinister in my opinion
