If you read the link, it is clear that the brother was the main instigator of the crime, and he confessed to possession with intent to supply.
The sister played a minor role compared to his, and he view on drugs is inadvisable, but not a criminal offence.
As I read it, the sentences are commensurate with the offences committed - gender is not relevant in the slightest.

AOG - ///// At Minshull Street Crown Court, Joel and Poppy pleaded to supplying cocaine. ///
if I am reading this correct, they both pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine, so surely they should have received a similar sentence? //
From your link, it reads to me that the brother was the prime mover in this operation, and also the one who was caught in possession of large amounts of drugs, and he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply.
I refer to my earlier post - I don't believe gender was a factor in the sentencing.

The Courts will have had the full evidence, we only see a snippet in the article.
//As well as a cocaine charge, Joel also pleaded guilty to possessing 2030 MDMA tablets worth £6,090 and 606g of cannabis worth £8,480 after the drugs were found hidden in a bucket inside his wardrobe during a different police search.//
There's no doubt she has got off relatively lightly but because of her lesser part in this I imagine rather than any other notion.
