Today, two 15 year old "children" were found guilty of murdering a mother and her daughter. The male admitted guilt from the start, the girl was found guilty at her trial. Why is it that they cannot be named ? Surely they give up all rights to anonymity when they they commit the crime ! As far as I'm concerned, it should be name and shame. The law in this case is an ass !!

reminds me of the murderers in the true-life Heavenly Creatures. In real life they were given new identities: one became a writer of crime books (the other works with horses or something). A horrible crime, born out of a weird toxic friendship, but both have served their time and become useful members of society rather than being kept in jail at society's expense forever. I think that's a good outcome.
//Please give those less fortunate than you, the names and identity of these two 'minors'? ?//
JtH knows better than that. There are reporting restrictions imposed as a result of a Court Order. Anyone publishing their names anywhere (until such restrictions are lifted) will potentially be subject to contempt of court proceedings.
If their names have been withheld it will be for good reason and I'm not about to contravene the law.
Quite, jno; *folie à deux* doesn't usually end so tragically, but in keeping the protagonists apart, it is to be hoped that there would be no repetition.
not surprising that jno, not a sincere bone in his body, is defending these lowlives. The age of criminal responsibility is 10, they qualify for prosecution they should dam well be named, end of.
