Probably for the same reason as I sometimes join in questions like this. To demonstrate that not everybody has heard of all of these “celebs” whose demise is reported. I am probably the worst offender in this respect as I know of few celebs, Thespians, rock stars, film stars or personalities who did anything much after the 1970s. So when these “youngsters” shuffle off this mortal coil I have frequently never heard of them. I have to say, in this particular case, I don’t ever recall even hearing his name mentioned, but that’s not surprising for me.
I’m also interested in people’s reactions. Yesterday one Aber announced she was “devastated” at this news. Quite how anybody can be devastated (definition in this context “to cause (someone) to feel extreme emotional pain”) at news of a death (sad as it is) of somebody they have probably never met and never knew is extremely puzzling to say the least.
