Well this got interesting, did Jim360 hang around with the popcorn supplies? I see Mikey flounced early. What changed yesterday was the idea that the will of us, the electorate, was the over riding authority in the UK, we are offered a vote, we vote and expect the results of that vote to be respected. What happens now? Do we ask the lawyers and the high court to...

The brutal truth is, while I agree that there could and should have been some sort of referendum or public consultation on the future in the EU, the whole thing was over simplified, with ridiculous scaremongering on both sides. When you have a referendum you HAVE to put a simple question. But this was such a complex issue, as many admitted at the time, no way was it suitable for a simple "Black" or "White". It was "status quo" or "the unknown" masking as a deceptively simple "Leave"

We voted to leave without any clear direction as to where we would end up. We decided that we would find that out as we went on. We voted Leave to free ourselves, no matter what it cost.
The Government leaflet said quite clearly that the Govt. would abide by the result of the Referendum and they voted 6 to 1 to hold it.
These are 'weasel words' that they are using. At the moment we have one High Court (N. Ireland) saying one thing and the English High Court saying another. It is already a Constitutional crisis. Is it time for the Queen to abandon her aloofness and exercise her Royal prerogative to instruct her government to respect the wishes of her people? Just a question at the moment, but I see this turning very nasty.
Ken Clarke really needs to shut up or someone will be taking it out on him.

"at the cost of judicial and legal precedent from centuries of experience - that undermines the whole concept of government in this country. Get real. Terrorist in the making...? " - cobblers, this is hair splitting exercise designed to prevent brexit by the SGB. The people have given the government the order and the mandate, b100dy well get on with it. The last thing we need is a load of self important prannies delaying and diluting for their own selfish reasons.
I came on here after a day away, having had a BBC alert on my phone about 11am saying that Parliament would have to vote on article 50. I might have guessed which paranoid poster would have had the most to say on it. You haven't disappointed TTT.
Truth of the matter is, some of us could see what a bleedin mess it would be and today's ruling is just one example of what 'we' foresaw.
'We want out at any cost'......just typifies the attitude of the head in the sand Brexiteers. If it weren't so tragic I'd laugh.
I must admit though, your apoplectic rage has brought a smile to my whiskers old chops so thanks.
Looking forward to many more such missives in the coming months.
