This practice is far from unknown within Islam, but that the government of arguably the most liberal of Islamic nations should even consider such a proposal is mind-boggling. With human rights legislation in place in Europe, how can that country possibly aspire to membership – or have any application seriously considered?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I suspect it is a claim that some parts of the world they have not got the modern views that some of the other pasts have; so Fizz suggests they have collectively made their own bed and have to lie in it. Rather harsh on the victims but I suspect the suggestion is that it is nothing to do with outsiders how those countries run their affairs or treat their citizens.
