Time Magazine think he's a candidate:
Announcing the 11-strong shortlist, which was chosen by the magazine's editors, the publication said: "As head of the UK Independence Party, Farage was a face of the successful campaign for Britain to leave the European Union, positioning the referendum as the start of a global populist wave against the political establishment." - Pity that many this side of the pond cannot see his contribution.

We can all see what he did TTT, but not all of us agree with him, or you for that matter.

Let his mug appear on the front cover of Time....it won't make any difference one way of the other.

Time's Person of the Year thing is a bit weird. In 2006 *I* was Time's Person of the Year, for example. It was Angela Merkel last year, Barack Obama won it twice, Putin in 2007, protesters in 2011, Hitler in 1938 and Stalin twice, etc etc etc.

I don't think Farage is an undeserving candidate, since he clearly has played a big role in shaping politics this year and for years to come. But being Person of the Year is not necessarily an endorsement of the person per se.

Giving it to Farage would be a great put-down for Trump, although I'd be surprised if the Trump knows what Time magazine is :-)
